Gift of William B. Marye, March 3, 1941. (?) See letter of W. B. Marye to N.M. Judd, April 4, 1935, reading as follows: "I am in receipt of your very kind letter of recent date. I have consulted with Mr Dielman, the editor of the Maryland Historical Magazine and, like me, one of the officers of the Maryland Historical Society, and I find him fully in favor of my making you a present of the negative of the Lloyd map of 1721; so please take take it with the complements of the Maryland Historical Society. I am sending it to you today under separate cover. I am afraid you will find it blurred in one or two important particulars. On this account I am lending you a positive of a photostatic copy of the map which was struck off several years ago. The negative from which this was made, has unfortunately been lost or mislaid, and our photostatic machine is no longer in working order. Please keep this photostatic copy as long as you may have any use for it. You may want to have it photographed or you may use it for touching up the positives which are made from the negative which we are giving you. It is clear in all particulars. Letter of M.W.S. to Marye, June 4, 1935 states: "The photostat copy which you sent for comparative purposes is being returned to you under separate cover."
