Scope and Contents

Two sheets with pencil drawings of 35 plants, each accompanied by a legend in the Cherokee syllabary. Also small black notebook containing miscellaneous notes on Cherokee, etc, and a list of Choctaw clans. Pages 1-4 are headed, "Hawanitaʹs Plant Pictures" with 35 plant names, probably corresponding to the drawings. The remainder of the notebook covers: miscellaneous notes, including stories by Cherokee informants (6 pages); vocabulary and notes relating to disease (17 pages); circular burial diagram and notes (1 page); "Cherokee Nation Index," which gives page references to some other publication or manuscript.
