As related from memory by the aged Chief John Smoke Johnson (age 93) at a meeting of his Mohawk friends, convened on Monday March 16th, 1885. Refers to a silver plate communion set presented to the Indians by Queen Anne in recognition of their acceptance of Christianity.

This communion set was exhibited for the first time by the Buffalo Historical Society in May, 1938, together with Bible which was presented with the set. (The presentation was made by Queen Anne in 1712) See newsclipping in file Number 3709.
