Using the Collection

Citation
Manuscript 3710, National Anthropological Archives, Smithsonian Institution
Condition
Though by Mrs. Holway to be in the hand of John Howard Payne and possibly a copy from material in the Cherokee Phoenix, August, 1828, since an article based on that source (John Fordyce, "Sequoyah in Arkansas," Arkansas Gazette Magazine August 13, 1933) "uses some of the phrases in your document exactly."
