The collection consists of a rubbing of a series of footprints carved into a sandstone rock located on Agency Hill in Muskogee County, Oklahoma. The prints are of different sizes, depicting men, women, and children, all wearing shoes.

Biographical Note
Biographical Note
Grant Foreman (1869-1952) was a lawyer and historian best known for his study of Native Americans and the state of Oklahoma. In 1899, Foreman joined the Dawes Commission, created to allot land to members of the Five Civilized Tribes. In 1903, he ended his service with the commission and began practicing law in Muskogee. He and his wife, Carolyn, together wrote numerous articles and books on Native American history.
