Approximately 54 photos (many duplicates) numbered (not consecutively) from 1 to 24. The photos were made from glass negatives, 13 of which were received with this collection and are catalogued under negative No. UTAH 43-55. Folder 8 Miscellaneous photographs including, 2 photos of "Crescent Castle" 1 photo of ruins at Bluff City, Utah and 7 unidentified snapshots. (total: 10 photos).

Photographs from the survey were taken by G. D. Harrington. All the ruins Douglass describes were visited and described by Byron Cummings of the University of Utah in 1907. Crescent Castle was described and drawn by W. H. Jackson in the 10th Annual Report of the Hayden Surveys, 1879.

Manuscript was sent to Walter Hough, Division of Ethnology, Department of Anthropology, USNM, by Douglass, July 2, 1909 (see correspondence in Bureau of American Ethnology files) and received in the Archives December 19, 1968 from Richard B. Woodbury.
