The handwritten notes include some statements by Moroccan and European informants that are not included in the typescript. Letters include: Haliburton to Max Muller, August 8, 1891, summarizing findings about the pygmies and providing brief notes on Berber and pre-Berber languages; Haliburton to Otis T. Mason, August 11, 1891, transmitting the notes and letter to Muller; Haliburton to Mason, September 6, [1891], giving permission to publish the notes and other information.
