The document presents a bird's-eye view of Nagasaki harbor. Included are topological features, foreign ships, and other water vessels. Identified by color are such things as temples, shrines, streets, the restricted Chinese quarter, and Deshima, the Dutch factory.

Gift from Mrs. Lispernard Seabury Crocker, 1961. She collected it in Japan in the 1930s. From July 31 to August 5, 1939, the map was in the exhibit entitled "Around the World" in the Historic Warner House, Portsmouth, New Hampshire. It was transferred from the artifactual collection of the Department of Anthropology to the National Anthropological Archives by Chang-su Houchins in August 1984.
