The document presents a bird's-eye view of Mt. Yoshino in spring, with the cherry blossoms in full bloom. Historical temples and shrines are labled in red squares. Also includes an explantory text for various points of interest, entitled "Yoshino sōsō ryakki" (Brief historical sketch of Yoshino). It has excerpts from both historical and geographical classics together with representative Yoshino theme poems.

Gift from Mrs. Lispernard Seabury Crocker, 1961. She collected it in Japan in the 1930s. From July 31 to August 5, 1939, the map was in the exhibit entitled "Around the World" in the Historic Warner House, Portsmouth, New Hampshire. It was transferred from the artifactual collection of the Department of Anthropology to the National Anthropological Archives by Chang-su Houchins in May 1984.
