Historical Note

Historical Note
Jing Bao, or The Peking Gazette, was an official bulletin published during the Qing dynasty in late imperial China. From around 1730, the publication was in Chinese called Jing Bao, literally "the Capital Report." It contained information on court appointments, edicts, and the official memorials submitted to the emperor, and the decisions made or deferred.

Administration

Custodial History
The document bears the notation: "126,550 Japanese Dept. Ed." This appears to be an accession or catalog number and the name of the donor. A corresponding record, however, has not been found. The document was transferred from the object collections of the Department of Anthropology to the National Anthropological Archives in June 1985.
Processing Information
Data furnished by Chang-su Houchins, Department of Anthropology. Dr. Shen Fu, of the Freer Gallery, has furnished the date and identification of the prince.
