Administration
Custodial History
The book was donated to the Smithsonian as part of a larger collection of Chinese and Japanese objects by Dr. Sally Porter Law McGlannan of Baltimore, Maryland, in 1935. Many of the objects in the McGlannan collection were collected by her father, Dr. Homer Lycurgus Law, a Naval Surgeon, in Japan between 1870 and 1883. The book was transferred from the object collections of the Department of Anthropology to the National Anthropological Archives by Chang-su Houchins in August 1983.
