Scope and Contents
Scope and Contents
The texts are copies of those recorded as pencil-written field notes in NAA MS 4151 (English version published in Swanton, Myths and tales of the southeastern Indians, Bureau of American Ethnology Bulletin 88, 1929). The original texts are quite difficult to read. Supporting documentation was found in NAA MS 2435, Swanton's Alabama-English dictionary. The manuscript includes Lupardus's description of the way in which she carried out her work.
