Judy Shindel was an Ada Comstock scholar at Smith College (B.A., 1992). During her senior year she worked part time at the National Anthropological Archives and carried out an internship at the National Gallery of American Art working on their Columbus Quincentary exhibit. After she returned to Smiths she prepared this papers on the Improved Order of Red Men using library sources and other materials including her own families memorabilia.
