Recorded at Santa Barbara, April 4-7, 1887. About 232 entries, arranged in accordance with the "standard vocabulary" of the Smithsonian. Original, 12 pages, typed copy, 16 pages. (Also 2-page typed list by J.P. Harrington of words from Gould's vocabulary which Harrington did not "see through," received with Harrington's papers, after 1961.-This portion of Manuscript 858 returned to J.P. Harrington Papers.-ELM 10/80.)
