Biographical/Historical note
Biographical/Historical note
Philip Adolphe Klier (circa 1845-1911) was a professional photographer in Burma, as well as an opticion, watchmaker, and jeweller. He opened his first studio in Moulmein, Burma, circa 1871, and stayed there until he moved to Rangoon in 1880. With the exception of a five-year partnership with J. Jackson (1885-1890), Klier did most of his photographic work independently, making photographs for postcards, bookplates, and prints that he sold to customers in London.
