Biographical/Historical note

Biographical/Historical note
Philip Adolphe Klier (circa 1845-1911) was a professional photographer in Burma, as well as an opticion, a watchmaker, and a jeweller. He opened his first studio in Moulmein, Burma, circa 1871, and stayed there until he moved to Rangoon in 1880. With the exception of a five-year partnership with J. Jackson (1885-1890), Klier did most of his photographic work independently, making photographs for postcards, bookplates, and prints that he sold to customers in London.
