Biographical/Historical note
Biographical/Historical note
The Keystone View Company was established in 1892 in Meadville, Pennsylvania, by B. L. Singley, who served as sole photographer for the company until 1897. In 1898, the company developed an Education Department that produced boxed sets of images and informative text illustrating culture, industry, commerce and politics world-wide. By 1905, Keystone had expanded to become the largest sterographic company in the world. Mast Development Company purchased Keystone in 1963 and closed the Meadville manfacturing site in 1972.
