Photographs depicting Yavapai people, including two basket makers. The collection also includes images of a woman at a grave in Fort McDowell cemetery, and an image of Dixie Davis, Yavapai activist and member of the National Congress of American Indians.

Melissa Jones photographed the Yavapai community as part of a project to prevent the building of the Orme dam, which threatened the Yavapais on Fort McDowell Reservation. The project, led by Arizona State University anthropologist Sigrid Khera and Orme Dam activist Carolina Butler, produced photographs as well as an oral history with two Yavapai elders.
