Photographs made by Howard Zehr in September 1991 depicting Southern Cheyenne chiefs, including Lawrence Hart, Alfrich Heap-of-Birds, Joe Antelope, Everett Wilson, Lucian Twins, and Rollin Haag. The men were photographed wearing blankets, headdresses, war medals, and a George Washington and an Andrew Jackson peace medal. The photographs were made various at locations in Oklahoma, including Watonga, Cheyenne, Sayre, and Clinton.

Howard Zehr is a photographer and photojournalist, as well as Professor of Restorative Justice at Eastern Mennonite University's Center for Justice and Peacebuilding in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He also served as director of the Mennonite Central Committee's Office on Crime and Justice for 19 years.
