Biographical/Historical note
Biographical/Historical note
Fred Warren Schueler (b. 1921) took a three-month lectureship during the summer of 1958 that focused on improving medical teaching in Columbia. The tour was sponsored by Tulane Medical School, where Dr. Schueler was the Chairman of the Department of Pharmacology, and medical schools in Columbia. From notes on the verso of his photographs, it appears the tour visited "Arancuara, . . . [an] Army base at Tarapaca, . . . [and] into the jungle by motor launch, down the Rio Negro."
