This collection consists of several manuals: Bell Helicopter Illustrated Parts Breakdown, Model 47 Series Helicopter, 30 September 1953; Bell Maintenance and Overhaul Instructions, Introduction, 30 July 1953; Bell Model 47 Service Instruction Index, 1 July 1984; Pump End Assembly and Pump / Motor Assembly drawings; and Bell Service Instructions for Model 47, dated 1948 to 1989. Also included are two oversized black and white images of the National Air and Space Museum specimen Bell 47B.

Biographical / Historical
In 1946, the Bell Model 47 became the first civil helicopter in the world to gain commercial certification. Its marked stability led to its wide acceptance for a myriad of uses, including mail service and passenger transport.
