Biographical / Historical
Nick Cominos (1923-2008) had a illustrious career as editor, director and writer in the motion picture industry, focusing primarily on documentary films for television series. In 1961-62, Cominos shot footage of Cliff Winters, a well-known stunt pilot/jumper and wing walker in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Mr. Cominos was initially hired to shoot footage of Winters for the Sherman Grinberg Film Libraries, but after viewing his act, Cominos decided to make a documentary film on Winters. Footage was shot for the documentary, but was film was never completed due to the death of Winters while performing a stunt at the Labor Day Air Show at Chino, CA, 1963.
