Scope and Contents
This collection consists of material relating to Pompano Air Center, largely relating to Clinton A. "Clint" McHenry, Jr. and his work there as Chief Aerobatic Instructor. There are fifteen 35mm color slides in the collection, as well as a CD containing image files of various sizes. Aircraft depicted in the photographs include the Sukhoi Su-26, Sukhoi Su-29 and the Extra 230. The collection also contains video recordings produced by EAA's Paul Harvey Audio/Video Center. There are three VHS tapes with the following titles: Flying the Sukhoi, EAA's "In the Cockpit" Series, No. 1; Aerobatics: Flying the Maneuvers; and Getting Started in...Aerobatics. There are also two DVDs which were made by the donor as a transfer from VHS. Titles contained on these discs are Russia Highlights Su-27, Victor Pogachave; Oshkosh 1989 Theater in the Woods, Russian Delegation - Entire Show; Channel 7 News: Clint McHenry - Roland Steadham - Aerobatics; Clint McHenry Airshow Promo; CBS 60 Minutes (Edited Version) 20 min.; Aviatika Demo & Factory Tour - Russia; Pompano Air Center - Sukhoi Review; Flight Magazine - Clint McHenry; and US Airshows - Clint McHenry.

Pompano Air Center was founded in Pompano Beach, Florida in 1976 by John Becker and his son, Brian. In addition to being a a dealer for Cessna and Piper aircraft, Pompano Air Center was a leading sales outlet for Pitts and Extra aerobatic airplanes, offered pilot training, and hosted air shows beginning in 1984. In 1989, Pompano Air Center obtained exclusive sales rights in North, South, and Central America for the Soviet-built Sukhoi Su-26, and later was a worldwide distributor for Sukhoi Su-29 and Su-31 aircraft. Clinton A. "Clint" McHenry, Jr. served as Pompano Air Center's Chief Aerobatic Instructor.
