This collection consists of 63 8 x 10 black and white photographs depicting the construction process of a composite aircraft. Preceding each photograph is a detailed caption. Thirty five of these photographs were taken by Jack Greenberg on September 25, 1963 and October 8, 1963.

Two dentists, Dr. Leo Windecker and his wife Dr. Fairfax Windecker, worked with The Dow Chemical Company in a quest to develop lightweight fiberglass reinforced plastic structures for aviation use. The final result of this experimentation was the Windecker Eagle I, the first all composite aircraft to receive FAA certification.
