This collection consists of three two-sided, 8 x 10.25 inch pages of a historic document detailing the assignment of buildings and areas at Freeman Field. The paper is white stock yellowed with age.

Biographical / Historical
On April 1, 1945, a memorandum signed by Wilmer E. McDowell was issued by the headquarters at Freeman Field, Seymour, Indiana, which called for systematized racial segregation. Racial disturbances at the base ultimately led to the integration of the United States Air Force.
