Scope and Contents
This collection consists of an unused reporting card, meant to be dropped from a balloon during the 1922 National Balloon Race in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and returned within one hour to the Aero Club of Wisconsin by the person who observed the balloon from which it was dropped. The card is folded into two sections, sealed with adhesive seals (now broken), and has a lead line of type, from the Zahn Typesetting Company in Milwaukee, to serve as a weight attached to the card by a length of thread. The card has a place to record which balloon was observed, at what time, what course it was traveling, who the pilot was, and what the conditions were at the time.
