This collection consists of 150 photographs assembled by Ray Quick, arranged in the form of a travelogue. They document Quick's travels to the Philippines in 1947 to determine if Westinghouse Power could bring electricity to the islands. Most of the images are group portraits or landscape scenes, as well as American graves and sunken ships. Places featured include Corregidor, Guam, Itogon Trail, La Guardia Airport, and Manila Bay. There are also photographs of the Philippines National Power Company in Luzon. The photographs are captioned.

Biographical

Biographical
Ray Quick, an employee of Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company, explored the power potential of the Philippines between May 28 and July 8, 1947. The company was founded by George Westinghouse in 1886 and pioneered long-distance power transmission. Quick died on October 5, 1976.

The collection was donated by Ray Quick's wife, Glorene Quick, to the National Museum of American History's Division of Mechanical Engineering in 1978.

The collection was transferred to the Archives Center from the Division of Mechanical Engineering (now Division of Work and Industry), 2007.
