The collection documents the life and work of engineer and inventor James Nicol Halkett. The collection includes blueprints, photographs, his notes about machines, papers relating to his work with Crowe Name Plate Manufacturing Company, papers relating to his work in time and motion studies while employed at the Fisher Body plant, lab notes, notebooks with some illustrations, formulas, reports, brochures from the machine companies, and trade literature such as brochures and catalogs.
