The collection consists of over 420 daily programs for the Strand Theatre in Ipswich, Massachusetts. Also included are two photographs of the theater and about a dozen flyers, tickets, and advertising materials.

Biographical / Historical
Strand Opera House opened in 1909 in Ipswich, Massachusetts, and showcased operas, travelling shows, symphonies, and plays. After a destructive fire in 1930, the Strand reopened as a movie theatre owned by Phil Smith and Theatrical Enterprises. This theatre catered to locals as well as out-of-town upscale clientele, and it proudly screened first run films.
