This collection contains 4 photographs shot by photographer Danny Beaton (Mohawk) circa 1990-2003, and one photograph by an unidentified photographer depicting Mr. Beaton. The photographs include a portrait of Joe Medicine Crow (1913-1916) [Apsáalooke (Crow/Absaroke)] and Danny Beaton; Leon Shenandoah (1915-1996); Anne Jock; and Oren Lyons (Onondaga) and Jay Johnson. An additional photograph depicts tipis in a circle on Ted Turner's Flying D Ranch near Bozeman, MT.

Biography from Danny Beaton's website, 2023:
Danny Beaton is an elder of the Mohawk nation in Canada. He is an environmentalist, who has worked for over 30 years protecting indigenous land and advocating the preservation of clean water.
He has been honoured by Canadian Parliament on multitude of occasions. In 2010 he received the Environmental and Natural Resources Award at the National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation Awards in Regina, Saskatchewan on behalf of the Canadian Government.
He is both a traditional flute player and self-taught writer. His writing is featured in two media outlets, which include: First Nations Drum and News from Indian Country.
