This collection contains American Indian educational filmstrips and associated teacher's guides and other materials from circa 1970-1984. They were collected by Ella Clark, a schoolteacher in Oklahoma.

Scope and Contents
This collection contains educational filmstrips and accompanying audio cassettes pertaining to the history and culture of American Indians. The collection also contains associated teacher guides, scripts, quizzes, and filmstrip viewing equipment. The materials were published from circa 1970-1984.

Arrangement

Arrangement
This collection is intellectually arranged in two series. Series 1: Filmstrips and associated materials and Series 2: Filmstrip viewers. The filmstrips in series 1 are first organized by publisher, then by date. The materials in this collection have been physically seperated for preservation purposes. The original filmstrip boxes are located in archival record center boxes 1-5; the filmstrips and sound cassettes are located in boxes 6-18; and the textual material is located in box 19.

Biographical / Historical
Ella Clark was a teacher in Wagoner, Oklahoma (not to be confused with Ella E. Clark, who studied the oral histories of Indigenous people of North America). Little else is known about Ella Clark's biography.

This collection was donated in 2005 to NMAI by Ross Byington, a US Department of Education employee who obtained the materials from Ella Clark, a teacher in Oklahoma who collected these materials during her career.
