Historical Note
Thomas Elliott Snyder (1885-1970), an entomologist and authority on the taxonomy, biology, and control of termites, joined the staff of the Division of Forest Insects, Bureau of Entomology, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) in 1909. He remained with the USDA until his retirement in 1951. Snyder served as a Research Associate in the Department of Entomology, United States National Museum, from 1951 until his death.
