These records consist of materials that document the breadth of the administrative activities of the Assistant Director, Administrative Division. Subject matter covered includes: donor relations; renovation of the Freer Gallery of Art; restoration of the Peacock Room; object movement for study and exhibition; museum security; Freer history; acquisitions; collections management; exhibitions; visitor surveys; and records relating to Sackler gift and establishment of the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery. The Freer and Sackler combined from the National Museum of Asian Art for the United States. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, reports, working papers, fundraising activities, object movement logs, and agreements.
