The files also contain some biographical information for the following individuals: John Alexander Pope, Director (1962-1971), Director Emeritus (1971-1982); Thomas Lawton, Assistant Director (1971-1977), Director - Freer (1977-1982), Director of Freer and Sackler (1982-1987), and Senior Research Scholar (1987-2001); Esin Atil, Curator of Islamic Art (1971-1984); Carol Radcliffe Bolon, Assistant Curator - South and Southeast Asian Art; Fu Shen, Curator - Chinese Art (1990-2000); Richard Louie, Assistant Director of the Freer (1977-1990); Glenn D. Lowry, Curator - Near Eastern Art; Forrest McGill, Assistant Director of the Sackler (1989-1991). The records were created and maintained by Susan Bliss, Public Affairs Officer.
