This accession consists of records documenting the formation of the SIRIS Members Group and the meetings of that group. The SIRIS Members Group consists of representatives from bureaus participating in the Smithsonian Institution Research Information System (SIRIS) and provides a forum for discussion of topics that affect the efficient and effective implementation, operation, and use of the system by members and end-users. It is a forum for identifying modifications, improvements, and new functionalities to the system, and for bringing recommendations to the SIRIS Management Committee. The SIRIS Members Group is co-chaired by a SIRIS Member to be elected annually, and the SIRIS Manager. Materials include memoranda; correspondence; meeting agendas and minutes; mission statement; SIRIS users list; SIRIS Member guidelines and sample application; and minutes and reports of sub-committees and task forces within the SIRIS Members Group.
