This accession consists of records that document the planning, maintenance, and deinstallation of 1876: A Centennial Exhibition at the Arts and Industries Building. Materials include the correspondence and memoranda of Robert M. Vogel, Head Curator of the exhibition; William F. Miner, Project Manager, c. 1974-1978; Jon D. Freshour, Collections Manager, c. 1975-1979; Francis D. Roche, Collections Manager, c. 1979-1984; Melodie S. Kosmacki, Collections Manager, c. 1984-1991; and Margaret Grandine, Collections Manager, c. 1995- . Records also consist of exhibition planning and object information; photographs, contact sheets, slides, and negatives of objects, exhibition, and deinstallation process; visitor comments; contracts; exhibition maintenance information; deinstallation plans; budget summaries; information pertaining to conservation of objects, environmental management, and label installation project; brochures; and news releases.
