This accession consists of records that document the planning and execution of the traveling exhibition, A Brush with History: Paintings from the National Portrait Gallery. Carolyn K. Carr, deputy director and chief curator at the National Portrait Gallery, and Ellen G. Miles, curator of painting and sculpture co-curated the exhibition, which traveled to Tokyo, London, and several stops in the United States between January 27, 2001, and February 8, 2004.
These materials were created and maintained by Carolyn Kinder Carr, and include correspondence, memoranda, brochures, clippings, production schedules, financial records, invitations, photographs, and label text.
