Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of records that document two events of the Latin Music Program: "Boleros: Romantic Songs of the Americas," a Latin music conference and festival; and "Enlances: Connecting Communities through Latin Music," a concert and educational series to promote the origins and diverse genres inherent in Latin music. The Latin Music Program was established to provide high visibility and exposure to Latino music and musicians within the Smithsonian through scholarly research, symposia, exhibitions, events and educational programs. Also includes records which document "A Latina Celebration," an annual program of Women's History Month.
Materials include the correspondence of Judith Campos Scott, Project Development Specialist, and Miguel A. Bretos, Senior Scholar and Project Director; program proposals and reports; fundraising information; budget summaries; logistical information; program booklets and brochures; news releases; videotapes and audio recordings of concerts and panel discussions; and contracts. Some materials are in electronic format.
