This accession consists of audiovisual materials created during the production of the radio programs, "Black Radio: Telling it Like it Was" and "Mapping the Universe." "Black Radio," which highlights the history of African American radio, is hosted by Lou Rawls and won two Gold Medals at the New York Festival's International Radio Competition in 1996. "Mapping the Universe" features the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory and documents its attempts to map the universe. Materials include original recordings, soundprints, promos, final edits, archives, and a script.
