Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of three websites maintained by the National Air and Space Museum.
The "How Things Fly" website, crawled June 1, 2012, explains the basic principles that allow aircraft and spacecraft to fly. It is a companion website to the physical exhibition of the same name.
The "Become a Pilot Family Day and Aviation Display" website, crawled in three parts on June 25, 27, and 28, 2012, provides information about the museum's event of the same name which occurred on June 16, 2012.
A subdomain of the museum's main website dedicated to the space shuttle Discovery was crawled on April 17, 2012, the same day it flew over Washington, District of Columbia. Discovery arrived at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center two days later when it was transferred from the United States, National Aeronautics and Space Administration to the National Air and Space Museum. The website includes information about the space shuttle as well as associated events.
Materials are in electronic format.
