This accession consists of research papers, lectures, research notes, correspondence, memoranda, manuscripts, photographs, slides from various trips and lectures, clippings, professional activity files, and related materials documenting Ursula B. Marvin's career as a planetary geologist at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, as well as personal papers and photographs from her childhood and education. Of special note are materials relating to Marvin's research on lunar samples from the Apollo missions and research in Antarctica studying meteorites. Also included are junior high and high school projects documenting her early interest in geology, and original artwork created by Marvin.
