This accession consists of records that document the benefit auction to create an endowment for the National Numismatics Collection (NNC) at the National Museum of American History (NMAH) to help preserve and provide access to the collection. In partnership with Heritage Auction Galleries, collectors were asked to donate coins and currency to be auctioned off with all the proceeds going to the creation of an endowment fund for the NNC that would be used for research, collections care, digitization, and exhibitions. Materials include a magazine, brochures, and auction catalogs.
