This accession consists of the online exhibition directory for all Smithsonian Institution museums in multiple formats - backups of the directory files from September 6, 2013 (SQL and Microsoft Access files) and a crawled version of the website from September 26, 2013. The directory content is coordinated by the Office of Visitor Services. Entries about past exhibitions, as early as 1972, have been retroactively added to the directory, but some exhibitions may be missing.
In the crawled version of the directory, exhibitions are arranged chronologically by opening date. The last two pages contain exhibitions without firm opening dates. Due to the technical limitations of the crawler, the search and sorting features do not operate properly, though they may initially appear to work.
