This accession consists of two websites maintained by the Office of Advancement as they existed on November 1, 2013. The Friends of the Smithsonian website and the James Smithson Society website both provide information about membership programs and list special events for members. The James Smithson Society is the highest level of membership within the Friends of the Smithsonian and its website features information specific to the Society. The Friends of the Smithsonian website promotes all of its membership levels. Some content is duplicated between the websites. Materials are in electronic format.
