This accession consists of program records documenting accepted applicants for fellowships, research positions, and internships at the Smithsonian Institution, with earlier records dating back to when the Office of Fellowships and Internships was known as the Office of Fellowships, the Office of Research and Training Services, the Office of Fellowships and Grants, and the Office of Academic Studies. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, and notes; applications; research proposals; project descriptions; committee evaluations (includes rejected fellowship applicants); budget summaries; agreements; meeting agendas and minutes; policies and procedures; reports; background survey questionnaires; photographs; clippings; and fellowship statistics.
