This accession consists of records that document the history and activities of the American Institute for Yemeni Studies (AIYS). The AIYS was established in 1978 to facilitate, coordinate, and encourage academic research dealing with Yemen in all disciplines through its offices in the United States and in Yemen and is a founding member of the Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC). Materials include board meeting minutes, pamphlets, reports, newsletters, agreements, waivers, clippings, and other related documents.
