Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of materials documenting the construction and installation of the Ad Astra sculpture by Richard Lippold at the National Air and Space Museum. The sculpture was constructed and installed by Railco Metal Craft, Inc., a company owned by Werner Neblung. Richard Neblung, Werner's son who also worked for the company, filmed the installation which was primarily performed by his father. Materials include original construction drawings and a digitized version of four reels of installation footage (not in order).
