This accession consists of records that document the activities and history of the Task Force on Smithsonian Business Ventures (SBV). The Task Force was created to help improve the contributions of the cash-generating activities to the Smithsonian's mission through bringing its research, collections, and exhibitions to broader audiences and by producing unrestricted income to support its programs. To accomplish this, the Task Force reviewed the strategy of SBV and recommended improvements to its structure and organization. These records were created and maintained by Pherabe Kolb, Senior Program Officer, Office of the Deputy Secretary and Chief Operating Officer. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, reports, agendas, meeting notes, and other related materials.
