Descriptive Entry

This accession consists of one website and one blog maintained by the Consortium for the Barcode of Life (CBOL), an international initiative devoted to developing DNA barcoding as a global standard for the identification of biological species since 2004. The CBOL Secretariat operates from the National Museum of Natural History. The Barcode of Wildlife Project website, crawled February 11, 2015, provides information about the Project which enables its six member countries to use DNA barcodes to identify species from minute samples in the investigation and prosecution of wildlife crimes. The Project is administered by CBOL. The "Fourth International Barcode of Life Conference" blog, crawled February 19, 2015, provides information for attendees at the 2011 event.
