Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of the "Birds of DC" website as it existed on April 10, 2015. The website, designed primarily for use on mobile devices, is an extension of the "Birds of the District of Columbia" exhibition at the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH). The website was a collaboration of the NMNH Office of Education and Outreach, the NMNH Division of Birds, and the Encyclopedia of Life and was developed to enhance the visitor experience by providing general information, vocalizations, and range map for each species in the exhibition. The website is organized by exhibition case number and includes links to the relevant species pages in the Encyclopedia of Life. Materials are in electronic format.
